The Ohio Collage Society Show, 3.5 x 2.5, opened tonight at the BOX Gallery in Akron. It’s a show of small collages by members of the society; see it before it closes on 4/16.
It’s a terrific show with somewhere between 75-100 works. Most artists submitted 3 or 4 pieces and they’re grouped together, giving a nice view of each artist’s work. The work is all small – 2.5 x 3.5 inches exactly. Amazing what artists can do in such a tiny space.
I’ll confess; I’m guilty. I don’t get to Summit Artspace nearly often enough. The place was HOPPING tonight. On the first floor, “Fresh Art” was opening. The BOX Gallery is on the 3rd floor, and it had the opening of the Ohio Collage Society Show. Several artists have their studios in the building and were having open studios. Akron Society of Artists was there. So was ArtCetera. And live music. And food. And people. It was great to see.
