Colors and Lines, Red

abstract acrylic painting with ink

Colors and Lines, Red, 12x12 inches, on paper

Oh, am I having fun with these! I love the ink against the colors.

This one is painted on a 12×12 inch piece of scrapbooking paper. I bought a big stack of paper, the kind that’s pre-printed with stripes and swirls and plaids. This piece is printed red with tiny white dots. You can see some of the dots faintly peeking through around the edges.

I gessoed it, then painted on the colors, and then dropped ink onto the page. I blew air through a drinking straw to move the ink around, just like you used to do when you were a kid.

LOVE it!
