And, now for something a little different!
Inktober is a challenge that takes place every October. Participants are encouraged to create an ink drawing inspired by a daily prompt. I love the idea of it and have tried it several times, but never got past the first few days. This year, I tried again … with a twist.
To keep me on task, I used Tootsie, my cat, as the inspiration for each day’s drawing. I’ve christened the project: Toots-Tober!

My cat-drawing skills are dismal, but the only way to get better is to practice, right? See how I did below. Click on any of the images for a larger version.
Most of my interpretations are really straightforward, other than two:
Day 15, Ragged, is Toots’ favorite toy, a stuffed gingerbread toy called Gingie who is getting very worn.
Day 20, Rivals, is Max, who lives next door and likes to peep in our windows.
I used a limited set of supplies:
+ Hahnemühle sketchbook with tan paper
+ Opus 88 Mini fountain pen (Grumpy Cat Cafe design) with Fine nib, filled with Platinum Carbon Black ink
+ Pentel Pointliner 0.1mm
+ Pentel Pocket Brush Pen
+ Pentel 0.7mm P207 mechanical pencil
+ Faber-Castell Pitt Big Brush Pen, warm grey III 272
+ Sakura Gelly Roll 05 in white for highlights
+ A tin of watercolors with muted colors, used mostly for Toots’ eyes
