Have you seen a murmuration?
A flock of birds will sometimes fly in a way that looks like one fluid group.
It happened once in my backyard. Hundreds of birds swooped down from the trees, landed on the ground, then swirled up again as if choreographed. They repeated their dance 2 or 3 times. Although it lasted only a few seconds, it was stunning to watch.
That experience inspired my artwork. I tried to convey that swooping, swirling motion.
I created this piece for Door 2’s Birdsong show at the Cleveland Botanical Gardens.
